An aqueous, no-irritant, antiseptic, ear cleaner

There are many ear cleaners on the market. Many are alcohol based, which helps dissolve wax but can also irritate and inflame the ear canals. Many others leave a wet or oily ear canal.
Epi-otic will leave your pets ear canal dry and clean. The active ingredients in Epi-otic will remove wax, crusts, dirt, scale and other debris whilst suppressing wax production and reducing fungal and bacterial presence. The active ingredients are incorporated into Spherulites* providing sustained release following application and chitosanade which has a filming action that binds the spherulites to the skin. Can be used safely in both dogs and cats.

Product Content
Salicylic acid, Lactic acid, Parachlorometaxylenol (PCMX), Propylene glycol, Docusate sodium. Salicylic acid is keratoplastic, bacteriostatic (stops the multiplication of bacteria) and antipruritic (reduces irritation). Lactic acid reduces skin cell production (and , hence, skin scaling) and lowers skin acidity, thus, interfering with bacterial growth. PCMX is a broad spectrum anti-bacterial and antifungal agent. Propylene glycol dissolves ear wax and suppresses overproduction of ear canal, skin cells. Docusate sodium is a filming agent which leaves the ear canal dry.

Directions for application
Shake well before use. Turn the white nozzle to open the bottle and apply to the ear canal. Gently rub the base of the ear and then wipe the interior of the ear flap with a swab or tissue soaked in Epi-otic.

Frequency
For routine ear cleansing and hygiene apply twice weekly. Epi-otic can also be used prior to the administration of medicines for treatment of otitis externa (infections of the external ear canal). If heavy wax is present in the ear canal, application twice daily for up to a week may be necessary. The phyto-aromatic gel, Canidor, is a complementary product to maintain a healthy ear canal and to provide a pleasant aroma.
